The PHILGBC administers training programs aimed at enhancing the capacity of individuals and project teams in the design, construction, and operation of green building projects.
Earn your credentials as a green building professional and support projects seeking certification under BERDE, ANZ/PH, or H+W. Demonstrate and apply your expertise in green building as a Certified BERDE Professional (CBP), in net zero as an ANZ/PH Accredited Professional (ANZ/PH AP), and in health and well-being in buildings as a H+W Accredited Professional (H+W AP).
The BERDE Professionals Basic Training Course is a professional certification program designed to increase the capability of professionals and project proponents in the design, construction, and operations of green building projects.
It covers the full BERDE Core Framework — from management, resource conservation and efficiency, sustainable use of land, health and well-being, and socio-economic opportunities. The training prepares participants to assist in the design, construction, operations of green building projects, and the certification processes under PHILCERT, particularly for the BERDE — Buildings.
The training covers three (3) modules:
Green Building Awareness
PHILCERT Process
BERDE Core Framework
The training is implemented over two (2) days with a total training period of 16 hours.
Technical professionals involved in the design, construction, and operations of building projects, including architects, engineers, planners, and other building professionals
Project owners and decision-makers for building projects, including developers, building owners, and project managers
Individuals responsible for sustainability performance, environmental management, or organizational sustainability initiatives, including sustainability officers and environmental consultants
Professionals involved in implementing or enforcing building standards, environmental policies, or building sustainability ordinances, from both the public and private sectors
Individuals supporting or intending to support BERDE Certification under PHILCERT, whether in documentation, project coordination, or compliance work
The examination is designed to evaluate the participant's understanding of the program, its processes, and its requirements. The examination is administered by the PHILGBC.
To be eligible, you must be a graduate of a four or five-year college degree.
If you complete and pass the examination, you will be recognized as a Certified BERDE Professional for BERDE — Buildings.
The BERDE – Districts Professionals Training Course is a professional certification program designed to increase the capability of professionals and project proponents in the planning, development, and management of sustainable districts, communities, and campuses.
It introduces the application of the BERDE Core Framework, which evaluates sustainability performance at the district level—covering management, land‑use and spatial planning, resource efficiency, mobility and connectivity, health and well‑being, resilience, and socio‑economic opportunities.
The training prepares participants to assist in the planning and implementation of sustainable districts, as well as the certification processes under PHILCERT, particularly for BERDE — Districts.
The training covers three (3) modules:

The ANZ/PH Professionals Training Course is a professional certification program designed to build the capability of professionals and project proponents in planning and implementing strategies for advancing net zero in building projects.
The course covers the fundamentals of net‑zero energy buildings, including conserving energy through passive strategies, optimizing energy use through active energy-efficient practices and technologies, and using renewable energy.
The training prepares participants to assist in the design, construction, and operations of net zero energy building projects, as well as the certification processes under PHILCERT, particularly for ANZ/PH — Energy.
The training covers two (2) modules:
Advancing Net Zero
ANZ/PH Advancing Net Zero Energy Rating Scheme
The training is implemented in one (1) day with a total training period of 8 hours.
Technical professionals involved in the design, construction, and operations of building projects, including architects, engineers, planners, and other building professionals
Project owners and decision-makers for building projects, including developers, building owners, and project managers
Individuals responsible for sustainability performance, environmental management, or organizational sustainability initiatives, including sustainability officers and environmental consultants

The H+W Professionals Training Course is a professional certification program designed to build the capability of professionals and project proponents in integrating health, well‑being, and human‑centered performance into building projects.
The course is based on the PHILGBC Health and Well-being for Buildings (H+W) rating system, which guides the assessment of buildings in terms of health, comfort, lifestyle, social well‑being, and environmental quality.
The training prepares participants to support the planning and implementation of buildings that promote occupant well‑being, as well as the certification processes under PHILCERT, particularly for H+W.
The training covers three (3) modules:
